With more and more people turning to air fryers to cook in 2022 due to their cost-effectiveness, time-saving and health benefits, the team at Tefal donned their aprons and have shared how to save time and energy costs by cooking your Christmas dinner treats in the must-have kitchen appliance of the year.
With little to no pre-heat time and a more compact cooking space, cooking meals such as Christmas Dinner in an air fryer can save you up to 70% on energy costs vs a conventional oven, whether its air frying your turkey joint, grilling your pigs in blankets or steaming your veggies.
In between opening presents and watching the King’s speech, cooks can save time and energy on the much-loved Christmas roast potatoes. With no par-boiling required an air fryer will produce crispy roasties in 30-40 minutes.
Love them or loathe them, incredible savings can also be made by steaming whole fresh brussels sprouts in the air fryer, compared to boiling them on the hob. In fact, if you’re using frozen veggies one of the best ways to cook them is by steaming them in the air fryer as they slowly defrost so you don’t end up with soggy veg.
And turkey, when air fried, will create crispy skin and succulent, tender meat. A 1.25kg turkey joint will take 42 minutes in the air fryer.

Air fryers can also be used to reheat as well as cook – whether it be leftovers on Boxing Day or flaky pastries to go alongside your Bucks Fizz on Christmas morning.
Caroline Ross, Marketing Manager, Kitchen Electrics at Tefal said, “Not only will cooking some of your Christmas staples in an air fryer taste just as good, if not better, than heating them up the oven, it will also net you significant savings on your energy bills, whilst also saving you time and hassle.

Our EasyFry 3in1 will cook up to 50% faster and save up to 70% energy and will not only satisfy even the toughest of Christmas meal critics but will give peace of mind knowing that money is being saved too.”
