Why Western Contouring Tutorials Fail Indian Faces
Most contouring tutorials on YouTube are filmed on fair-skinned women with narrow, angular faces. The shading lines are drawn for a structure that many Indian women simply do not have, a long, thin nose bridge, a naturally hollow cheek, a jaw that already tapers. When Indian women follow those same lines on rounder, flatter, or wider face structures, the result looks muddy rather than sculpted. The contour sits in the wrong place and reads as a brown stripe, not a shadow.
