How to catch a unicorn in Hogwarts Legacy

One of the greatest parts of the world of Harry Potter is the fantastic beasts, and Hogwarts Legacy gives you the chance to capture them. Unicorns are common in all kinds of fairy tales, and you can catch one of your own in the game.

However, unicorns are rare. As well as being hard to find they can also be fairly difficult to catch. Here’s everything you need to know about catching unicorns in Hogwarts Legacy.

Hogwarts Legacy: How to unlock unicorns

There are a few things you need to do before you will be able to catch your first unicorn. Firstly, you need to attend at least one Beast class in order to find out about them. Next, you need to be ready to catch beasts. This means finding the Room of Requirement, unlocking vivariums to put in there, and getting your nabsack. Once you have all these you’re ready to try and catch your first unicorn.

Hogwarts Legacy: Unicorn locations

There is only one place you can find unicorns in Hogwarts Legacy and that is on the northeast edge of the Forbidden Forest. Here is the only unicorn den in the game, so don’t bother trying to look for another one.

In order to catch the unicorn, you need to make sure that you have you nabsack equipped. We also recommend that you have Accio, and a few other levitating spells ready. Firstly, try to land three hits with you nabsack, and then use a spell that will keep the unicorn in place. Once you have done that you should be able to capture it with a final blow from your sack.

There are two types of unicorns you can find. One has a dark coat, and one has a light coat. If you keep them in a vivarium in the Room of Requirement, you’ll be able to collect unicorn hair. This is a very useful item for upgrading your high-level gear.

If you are looking for another beast in Hogwarts Legacy, then you can find all beast locations in our guide.
