The Miami Dolphins have set themselves up in a great position through the first 16 weeks of their 2023 campaign, as they currently have an 11-4 record, which is good enough for the top point in the AFC East and the second seed in the conference.
After beating the Dallas Cowboys last week, the Dolphins have already punched their ticket for the postseason, but they still have to win their division. That’s something that could be done as early as this week.
According to the NFL, there are two different ways that Miami can accomplish this feat in Week 17:
- The Dolphins beat/tie the Baltimore Ravens OR
- The Buffalo Bills lose/tie the New England Patriots
While these both may seem like tough asks, the Dolphins are coming off their first victory over a team with a winning record, and they’ve been pretty strong against Baltimore, winning their last two matchups with Lamar Jackson and company.
The Bills have also already lost to New England once this season, so it wouldn’t be totally shocking to see it happen again.
If Miami doesn’t clinch this week, they’ll meet Buffalo in Week 18 to decide the division, and that will surely be an intense battle.
