Connor Goldson has revealed he was so unimpressed by the standard in Rangers training when he first joined that he was questioning his decision to sign.
We told already how the former Ibrox centre-back detailed Steven Gerrard's attempts to sign him and how he was persuaded by his "idol" despite an initial reluctance to play in Scotland.
It is a decision that he is happy to have made after an enjoyable six years at the club which included a league title and many memorable nights in Europe.
However, after his first week of training he felt like his initial scepticism was well placed.
Goldson was one of Gerrard's early signings in his first summer transfer window and joined up with his new teammates at a training camp in Marbella.

At that point, the squad was still bare as the new manager was still working on getting his players in to make improvements from the previous regime.
That left Goldson worried after leaving Premier League side Brighton, who had a squad packed full with quantity and quality.
Speaking on Open Goal: "It’s mad, though, because I joined in Marbella. After that week, I rang my agent and was like, 'What have I done here?'
"It was the standard. I was like, 'What have I done here?' You go from Brighton - we had two strong elevens at Brighton in training. And I mean strong, like Premier League. You have a good squad, you’re playing.
"I went there, there were like seven pros, maybe, and ten kids. A lot of young boys at that stage had just come in. I’m like'“What have I done?'
Asked if he mentioned anything about his concerns to Gerrard, Goldson added: "No, I didn’t say it to him. But he was kind of like to me, 'Be patient. There’s a lot more coming.'"
