Grace's third series continues on Sunday night after the ITV drama made a rather controversial return to screens last week.
It was back in 2021 that the Sunday night show, a screen adaptation of Peter James' famous thrillers involving detective Roy Grace, first launched; with its first ever episode leaving viewers complaining of feeling sick and 'massively claustrophobic' as a man was buried alive in an underground coffin on his stag do.
Grace made an equally unnerving start to its second run last year, when people watching at home raised an eyebrow about a scene involving a man watching a snuff movie being on before the 9pm watershed. And that controversy was mirrored in the reaction to the first episode of series three last weekend.
The plot saw Grace and his colleagues investigating an attacker who raped their victims with a sex toy and that fact that storyline arrived in a slot previously home to more 'harmless' dramas like Vera and The Good Karma Hospital, sparked a number of complaints.
How many episodes of Grace are there on ITV?
There are THREE iepisodes n total for Grace's third series, with the second on March 26 and the third on April 2.
A preview for episode two read: "The detective and his team are called to the site of a fatal crash involving an articulated lorry, a car and a blue pick-up truck. An unexpected discovery found on the victim at the scene soon suggests there could be far more to this particular accident than meets the eye, sparking an unsettling chain of events that leads Grace and Branson on a game of cat and mouse through Brighton to save an innocent life before time runs out."
And, the moving onto the third and final episode, a synopsis teases: "Rising music star Gaia Lafayette announces to her devoted fans that she and her band are headed to Los Angeles, but a shocking attack leads Grace and Branson to believe someone may be trying to harm her. With a perpetrator on the loose, Roy must deduce who of Gaia's fanbase may be concealing sinister intentions."
It adds :"Meanwhile, a grisly discovery on a remote Sussex pig farm puts the detective under serious pressure, forcing him to split his team in order to investigate two impossible lines of enquiry."
