Liverpool have been handed a challenging start to the 2023/24 Premier League season with an opening day trip to Chelsea awaiting them on Sunday 13 August.
While the Londoners endured an even worse campaign than the Reds last time out, finishing a lowly 12th, new manager Mauricio Pochettino will be tasked with, at least, leading Chelsea back into the Champions League.
With new owner Todd Boehly overseeing a reported £555.5m, minimum, spending spree last season in his first year at Stamford Bridge, bringing in a whopping 21 players, Chelsea are expected to spend significantly again this summer. However, they will also have to move on a number of players, with the likes of Mason Mount and Conor Gallagher, despite Liverpool interest in the pair cooling, both expected to depart.
