How Lakers’ Austin Reaves can blossom offensively by getting stronger

Even though he was signed as an undrafted rookie, Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves turned plenty of heads this season.

He impressed fans and people around the league with his moxie, his deft instinctual feel for the game, and his ability to pass, shoot and dribble within context.

He clearly has lots of work to do, just as all rookies do, and one of the things everyone agrees he needs to improve is his upper-body strength.

Reaves, who is 6-foot-5, seems a bit pudgy, and at just over 200 pounds, he lacks the strength needed to go about against many NBA wings, especially on the offensive end.

Dr. Rajpal Brar, DPT has become well-known among NBA fans for his YouTube channel, where he goes in-depth on some of the latest injuries pro athletes have suffered.

He just came out with a new video that explains some specific situations in which Reaves would benefit from greater upper-body strength.

The NBA is a grown man’s game, despite what some critics of the modern NBA would say, and once Reaves grows into a more mature version of his current body, it will unlock the best version of his game, especially on offense.
