King Charles became heir to the throne at just three-years-old when his mother was crowned Queen following the death of George VI.
He has spent his full life preparing to be monarch, and when Her Majesty died at the age of 96 on September 8, he was finally crowned King.
His mother's long reign means her experience and wisdom of being a monarch and head of state will have no doubt rubbed off on her son - and will help to shape his reign, reports the Mirror.
