How diners can get a free Victoria sponge cake at Frankie and Benny's for the Queen's Jubilee

Dining out this Bank Holiday weekend? As Brits everywhere look forward to the long-awaited extended bank holiday weekend celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, a popular restaurant chain is offering customers a special one-off deal all weekend.

Italian-American eatery Frankie & Benny’s is spreading the love this Bank Holiday by offering guests a free Victoria sponge cake - but they have to buy a glass of prosecco to qualify

The offer will be available in their UK restaurants from Thursday, June 2 to Sunday, June 5, with the cheapest glass of fizz costing £4.40 for the Scavi and Ray Sparkling, or opt for the Midea Prosecco for £5.90 a glass.

The chain has also launched a limited-edition gin and tonic cocktail inspired by the monarch’s favourite tipple. Dubbed the Jubilee G&T, the cocktail is features a blend of Whitley Neill Special Edition Jubilee Gin, Fever Tree Rhubarb and Raspberry Tonic, and fresh raspberries for £7.

The cocktail is said to be the ideal way to celebrate the historic milestone, and will be available all week.

Other brands celebrating the Jubilee this week include McDonald’s, Burger King and Iceland among many others. McDonald’s will slash the price of the Quarter Pounder with Cheese, renamed the ‘Royale with Cheese’, to 99p, as well as reimagining their iconic jingle.

Meanwhile, Iceland are offering shoppers prizes for ordering online, with 300,000 deals up for grabs, including the top prize of a £2,500 Iceland shop.

Burger King has announced a weeklong £1.99 Royale offer from May 30 to June 5, while Pizza Hut are marking the royal occasion with a cheesy twist, by bringing back their iconic ‘Crown Crust Pizza’ from June 2 to June 5.

And for those celebrating at home, Aldi have slashed the price of their best-selling prosecco to £4.99 all week, ready to pop open a bottle over the four day weekend.

The Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II is being celebrated to mark the 70th anniversary of her ascension on February 6, 1952.
