How Didier Deschamps reacted to meeting Arsenal's William Saliba amid Virgil van Dijk comparison

Arsenal fans have spotted Didier Deschamps' unusual reaction to William Saliba during at France's training base.

Saliba joined the Gunners for a reported £30million back in the summer of 2019 but he is yet to make his first-team debut in north London, enjoying successful loan spells with Saint-Etienne, Nice and now Marseille. The talented centre-half has had an extremely productive campaign with Jorge Sampaoli's team, registering 14 clean sheets this term - a hugely impressive feat when you consider that he is still just 20-years-old.

The youngster's consistent displays have even earned him his first call-up to Les Blues' senior side after Bayern Munich star Benjamin Pavard tested positive for Covid-19. Now, Arsenal supporters on Reddit have noticed a video of France boss Deschamps meeting Saliba, with the World-Cup winning coach appearing to be in awe of the Gunners starlet as he looked him up and down.

Plenty of fans even took the time to compare the commanding centre-back to Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk and the so-called 'aura' the Dutchman possesses. Here is what a select few commented under the video.
