How did Isaiah Hodgins come to star for Giants in win over Vikings?

There is a definite taste of the Buffalo Bills within the New York Giants organization.

Their GM, Joe Schoen, came from Buffalo and brought with him head coach Brian Daboll.

A player who was a former Bill had a huge game for the Giants in their 31-24 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday in an NFC Wild-Card game.

Isaiah Hodgins had 8 catches for 105 yards and was a favorite target of Daniel Jones.

Hodgins wasn’t a Giant until November 22 of last year when he was claimed off waivers.

The Bills selected Hodgins in the sixth round, 207th overall, of the 2020 NFL draft. He didn’t play as a rookie due to multiple injuries.

On December 26, 2021, Hodgins made his NFL debut in the Bills’ week 16 game against the New England Patriots.

On August 30, 2022, Hodgins was waived by the Bills and signed to the practice squad the next day. He was promoted to the active roster on October 8. Hodgins caught his first four NFL passes in a 38-3 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was waived on November 1.

On November 2, 2022, the New York Giants claimed Hodgins off waivers. Hodgins had 33 catches for 351 yards and 4 touchdowns in the regular season with the Giants.

Hodgins’ father was a fullback in the NFL, winning a Super Bowl with the St. Louis Rams.
