Milos Degenek has knighted Alessandro Circati as Australia's next superstar in waiting after a European summer where the defender was linked with moves to Italy's super clubs.
Degenek and Circati are expected to form part of the Socceroos backline over a two-game friendly series against New Zealand, the first of which kicks off in Canberra on Friday.
The 21-year-old Circati, who was raised in Perth and rejected advances from Italy to pledge allegiance to the Socceroos, was a target for Juventus and AC Milan during the transfer window.
