How Britain and US voted as UN council passes resolution over slavery reparations

  • The measure passed with 123 votes in favour, with Argentina, Israel, and the United States opposing, and 52 abstentions, including the United Kingdom.
  • Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama, a key architect, highlighted the resolution's role in safeguarding memory and pursuing reparative justice.
