John Kennedy has laid bare the difference between Brendan Rodgers and Ange Postecoglou - as he insisted the returning Celtic boss will be aiming to keep the trophy laden days coming.
Postecoglou left for Tottenham off the back of lifting a clean sweep of domestic honours in Scotland - leading to a shock return of the Irishman to the Parkhead dugout. Following the Australian's exit the Celtic assistant was at the centre of a tug of war between the two bosses with Postecoglou keen on taking him to Spurs - but after talks with Rodgers he opted to remain with the Scottish champions.
And after opting to stick rather than twist, Kennedy insists Rodgers is the right man to bring more silverware through the door in Glasgow's east end. Kennedy told Celtic TV: "He will not let anyone slip into the mindset of thinking they have achieved. The reality is you've achieved, you have to respect that and you park it. But you have got to achieve again.
"That is what the club demands. Some of the guys have done it, some of them haven't, but Brendan off the back of a Treble the last time went and delivered another one. He knew, in terms of experience, what it took to achieve that and how great a demand there is to do that again. It's not going to catch him by surprise, he knows what the club demands and he will be asking for more."
Pressed on the differences between Postecoglou and Rodgers management style, Kennedy went on: "Ange was there at all times and is someone with high standards. He was terrific with how he dealt with everything and it was a successful period.
“Brendan is a different character all together in terms of how he gets involved, how he likes being around people and a bit more socially as well. That’s his style. It’s how he gets into people’s minds and gets the best out of them.
“Ange had a different character in how he drew the best out of other people. It’s two different styles, both very successful in what they do but for the players it’s a change, a new character and someone they will have to prove themselves too and hopefully it’ll be a stimulus for them to go and be really successful again.”
