• Corfu has become Rightmove’s most-searched overseas destination, with online queries for the Greek island increasing by 173 per cent in January compared to the previous year.
• The significant surge in interest is attributed to the BBC series Amanda & Alan’s Greek Job, which follows Amanda Holden and Alan Carr renovating a property.
• Corfu outstripped other popular destinations such as Dubai, the Costa Del Sol and the Algarve in search volume.
• Rightmove noted a similar trend previously for Spain, following the popularity of Amanda & Alan’s Spanish Job, with the renovated villa from that series now available for holiday bookings.
