House Republicans are putting in extra hours to fulfill President Donald Trump's request for a substantial budget package. The proposed package includes approximately $3 trillion in tax breaks, significant program cuts, and a potential extension of the nation's debt limit. Speaker Mike Johnson has been leading GOP lawmakers in crafting the package, with a self-imposed Friday deadline looming.

The budget package being developed by House Republicans aims to make expiring tax cuts permanent, reduce spending on federal programs, allocate funds for Trump's deportation operation, and complete the U.S-Mexico border wall. Additionally, the package may involve raising the nation's debt ceiling to allow for more borrowing and prevent a federal default.
