If you were caught in a downpour on Tuesday then news of further stormy weather might not be what you were hoping for - but that's what we'll get over the next few days according the Met Office.
Heavy rain saw roads hit by flash flooding in parts of the North East on Tuesday afternoon, with the third stage of the Tour of Britain cycling race concluding in torrential rain in Sunderland city centre. Wednesday might not be quite as dramatic on the weather front, but an unsettled day is in prospect.
Wednesday's UV levels will be medium, but pollen and pollution will be low.
A Met Office spokesperson said: "Variable cloud, sunny spells and further scattered showers. These heavy and thundery at times, most likely during the afternoon. Some parts staying dry however, and feeling warm in the sunshine. Maximum temperature 22 °C."
For the rest of the week we can expect "little change", with "further scattered heavy thundery showers and warm sunny spells".
