Patient who was sexually assaulted in hospital was unlawfully killed, says coroner

A coroner has ruled that Valerie Kneale, a 75-year-old woman who suffered a violent sexual assault while a patient at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, was unlawfully killed.

Ms Kneale, a retired clerical assistant, died on November 16, 2018, four days after being admitted to the hospital following a stroke at her home in Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire.
