THUNDER BEAUTY (3.15, nap) has the class to score a Listed victory in the Weatherbys Bloodstock Pro Pipalong Stakes.
The filly finished an excellent second at 40-1 in the Group 2 Duke Of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot last month. Having been held up at the rear of the seven-runner mile contest by Daniel Tudhope, again in the saddle today, she ran on well to take the runner-up slot three and a half lengths behind Saffron Beach.
David O’Meara’s four-year-old has an easier task today, although Roman Mist will pose a threat, having won a Listed event at Kempton in April, before finishing third behind Bashrikova in the Princess Elizabeth Stakes at Epsom.
ABLE KANE (7.20, nb) looks primed to score a first win this year in a competitive-looking Best Odds Guaranteed Everyday Vickers.Bet Handicap at Ffos Las.
Rod Millman’s five-year-old has won twice at this level – at Doncaster last September and at Leicester in October, the latter over the same seven furlong trip.
He failed to sparkle in his first four runs this term, but bounced back to form on his latest outing when fitted with a tongue strap, just failing to peg back A Sure Welcome by a neck at Windsor.
