Horror moment boy is bowled over by e-bike as he crosses road with mum and lollipop lady

The horrifying moment an e-bike rider knocks down a three-year-old boy outside a school before callously pedalling away has been captured on dashcam.

The youngster was crossing the road with his mum with the help of a lollipop lady when the teenager ploughed into them, knocking him to the floor and leaving him needing hospital treatment on Monday afternoon.

Detectives are now hunting the teen responsible as friends of the boy's parents shared the shocking footage in the hopes of identifying him.

It happened outside Christ the King School in Thornaby, Teesside, on Monday afternoon when the mum and toddler were being helped across the quiet, residential road by a lollipop lady.

A cyclist clad in black was seen shooting down the road towards the school, heading straight into a small group of parents and young children gathered outside the school.

The poor youngster was knocked to the ground, and was left with injuries to his head and arm for which he was taken to a nearby hospital. The teenager, who was also knocked from his e-bike, simply gets back on and rides off.

Meanwhile a kind-hearted lollipop lady comforts the youngster, with his mum in clear distress.

A friend of the boy's mum who shared the footage after it was captured by her father-in-law told The Mirror: "It is absolutely disgusting. I hope he gets caught."

A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: "The toddler and his mother were crossing with the lollipop lady, near to Christ the King Scool, when a teenager wearing all black clothing, continued to ride over the crossing and knocked the toddler to the ground.

"He was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees to be checked over and for an x-ray on his arm. The teenager did not stop at the scene of the incident and officers would ask for any witnesses, or anyone with information to call 101 quoting reference SE23135619."
