Dramatic pictures show the aftermath of a crash between a BMW convertible car and a blood bike just outside the city centre this evening (September 13).
The incident happened on the junction of Pin Mill Brow and Fairfield Street, Ardwick, earlier this evening with the road closed for hours while the site was cleared.
One side of the road towards Great Ancoats Street remains closed, with traffic diverting to turn at Mancunian Way/Fairfield Street. Traffic remains slow in the area.

A large police presence could be seen at the junction with the area around the vehicles taped off. A recovery vehicle could also be seen at the scene to take away the damaged vehicles, one of which was an urgent blood bike.
The crash appears to have happened as the convertible crossed over Fairfield Street to join Pin Mill Brow towards Great Ancoats Street, by the Curry's clearance store.
The condition of the driver of the bike and the car passengers in unknown at this time.
