More than 280 gardai were injured in the line of duty last year with dislocations, head injuries, open wounds, and bites all reported.
Bruising, grazes, and bites were the most common type of hazard faced by officers with 102 officers having suffered one of those types of injury.
There were 17 gardai that suffered closed fractures and another six that endured a painful dislocation, according to data released under FOI.
