Hopeful Twins Fan Interrupts News Broadcast to Explain Why He Still Believes After 9-1 Loss to Astros

The Twins are on the brink of elimination in the ALDS against the Astros, trailing 2-1 in the series heading into Wednesday’s Game 4. Despite a 9-1 loss in Game 3 on Tuesday, at least one fan at Target Field remains optimistic.

During a Fox 9 postgame news broadcast, a Minnesota fan appeared in the background and began ranting about why he is still holding out hope of a World Series run for the Twins.

The newscasters were clearly getting a kick out of the fan’s comment, enabling him to speak his mind while on camera. All the while, the fan’s friend could be seen attempting to drag him away, but to no avail.

“Tomorrow night, boys. We got tomorrow night,” said the fan before the reporters turned to include him in the conversation and asked why he was optimistic.

“I can’t not be, only because, I’ve rode this team this whole year. It’s been 21 years, and you can’t not stand behind them. They’ve had a great year,” added the fan, before apologizing and walking out of frame.

The Twins will host the Astros for Game 4 on Wednesday at Target Field, needing a win to remain in the postseason and avoid elimination. The fanbase doesn’t seem to have abandoned hope just yet, despite trailing in the series against the reigning World Series champs.
