Hooded Edinburgh man caught on camera 'stealing milk bottles' from doorstep

A fuming Edinburgh local woke up to find their regular milk delivery stolen in the night by a hooded thief.

Holly Weir has been receiving milk deliveries to her door for two years but awoke on Tuesday morning to find her usual order missing. Checking her doorbell's camera, she spotted a hooded figure come and steal her milk in the early hours of the morning.

The milk was delivered at around ten past one in the morning of June 28. However, just half an hour later a man wearing a grey hooded top can be seen walking up to her door, lifting the milk off of the doorstep and walking away. Reportedly, this is not the only such incident in the area with at least one other person complaining about their milk delivery being stolen on the same night.

The bizarre video footage from their home in Sighthill has left Holly feeling uneasy knowing that a stranger has wandered onto her property to steal from her in the early hours of the morning. Holly relies on these regular milk deliveries to be part of her children’s breakfast, especially for her youngest child who is only two.

Holly said: “It’s hard to see his face but you can clearly make out what he is wearing in the video and photos and what direction he goes in.

“It’s very frustrating, and it makes me uneasy and also angry because someone came onto my property and stole something. People may think “aw it’s only milk” but I pay for it and it’s extra milk that I do rely on for my children - especially my two-year-old who loves his milk. I do buy milk from the shop but it’s always good to know I have my milk delivery coming too.

“I just feel that this male has no morals or conscience because for all he knows that milk could have been an elderly person’s or someone’s who’s housebound, I mean it’s bad enough that he’s taken it from a house that has children inside.”
