Honduras manager Rueda details Palma talks over lack of Celtic minutes

Honduras manager Reinaldo Rueda has revealed he's held talks with his star man Luis Palma about his lack of game time with Celtic.

And he's insisted Palma is desperate to join up with his international teammates to play in Honduras' upcoming World Cup double-headers next month.

The winger missed Honduras' huge Copa America play-off defeat to Costa Rica in March after suffering a thigh injury in March and he missed several Celtic games.

Up until the title-winning party against St Mirren, Palma hadn't started a game since his injury and had made just five sub appearances.

But Rueda will certainly recall him into his squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Cuba and Bermuda.

He said: "I spoke to Luis Palma this week.

"It's a real shame he hasn't played many games for Celtic since his injury. It's really paused his progress there.

"But he remains fully motivated and he told me that his intention is to be in Honduras as soon as possible, after his season ends.

"I know that Luis has all the talent in the world and can give us the goals we need in these games.

"He was a very big loss in March and is a very important player for us."
