Honda May Make CR-V And Accord Hybrid-Only, Element Revival Still Rumored

  • Honda's product pipeline lists the CR-V and Accord going hybrid-only sometime next decade.
  • Honda is promising 15 new hybrid models for North America by around 2030.
  • Leaked documents target an Element revival in late 2028–2029 as a boxy, adventure-focused crossover for small fleets.

Honda's product planners are reworking their playbook, and the Accord and CR-V are central to it. A supplier memo cited by Automotive News and other outlets says the current gasoline-only Accord runs through March 2030, after which the next redesign could shift the car to hybrid-only. Analysts expect the CR-V to follow a similar path, alongside Honda’s formal global plan for more than 15 next-generation hybrids by fiscal 2030.
