Honda has revealed its 2026 Talon sport side-by-side lineup. Six trims return across two-seat and four-seat platforms. The big news sits at all four corners of the Talon 1000R models.
30-inch tires. From the factory.
That’s truck-size rubber. There are pickups out there still riding on 30-inch tires, and now Honda is fitting the same diameter meats to a high-performance UTV that’s built to live in rocks, sand, and whoops. On something this compact and purpose-driven, that’s kind of insane. And honestly, it’s totally badass.
Going from 28 to 30 inches isn’t just a flex. It increases ground clearance and makes a real difference in obstacle rollover. A taller tire doesn’t slam into rocks as abruptly. It climbs them. It smooths out deep ruts. It helps the Talon 1000R and Talon 1000R-4 FOX Live Valve trims carry speed through rough terrain that would have smaller tires working overtime. If you ride wide open desert or brutal backcountry, that extra two inches matters.

Honda clearly knows what it’s doing with the split. The Talon 1000R models are the wider, longer travel machines meant for faster terrain and bigger hits, so they get the 30-inch setup. The Talon 1000X trims, including the two-seat and four-seat versions, stick with 28-inch tires. That keeps them more nimble in tight woods and technical trails where quick direction changes beat outright clearance.
Under the hood, every Talon 1000 runs Honda’s proven 999cc engine. It’s built around durability and consistent power delivery rather than chasing headline horsepower numbers. The whole platform has earned a reputation for reliability, and Honda builds these in the United States using domestic and globally sourced parts.

For 2026, the two-seat lineup includes the Talon 1000X, the Talon 1000X FOX Live Valve, and the Talon 1000R Fox Live Valve with the new 30-inch tires. Pricing starts at $20,599 USD for the 1000X, $22,799 USD for the 1000X Fox Live Valve, and $23,799 USD for the 1000R Fox Live Valve.
On the four-seat side, you get the Talon 1000X-4 at $23,099 USD, the Talon 1000X-4 Fox Live Valve at $25,099 USD, and the Talon 1000R-4 Fox Live Valve with 30-inch tires at $26,099 USD.
It’s a simple change on paper. Two extra inches of tire. But it tells you exactly what Honda thinks the R is for. Not casual trail rides. Not gravel roads. It’s built to hit harder terrain straight off the showroom floor, and now it looks the part too.
