Ali Hazelwood’s bestselling romance novel The Love Hypothesis is finally making its way from the page to the big screen.
Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman are taking on the roles of Olive Smith and Dr. Adam Carlsen in the highly anticipated romantic comedy.
The Prime Video film follows Olive, a biology Ph.D. candidate who impulsively kisses the intimidating Professor Adam to convince her best friend she’s moved on from her crush.
What begins as a fake relationship quickly becomes much harder to keep pretend as their carefully planned arrangement turns into very real chemistry.
The movie premieres globally on Prime Video on Wednesday, September 23.

But Reinhart has found a particularly clever way to bring the movie’s rom-com spirit to life before audiences have even watched it.
Working with stylist Ib Abdel Nasser, the actress has been using her promotional tour to pay tribute to some of the genre’s most beloved leading ladies, turning each appearance into a fashion reference fans can decode.
Dubbed a masterclass in “method dressing,” this strategy celebrates the golden era of 1990s and 2000s romance to build excitement for her upcoming movie.
From channeling Kate Hudson’s iconic yellow gown in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days to recreating Jennifer Garner’s 13 Going on 30 look with the actual vintage Nanette Lepore coat from the movie, Lili has gone far beyond a simple red-carpet homage.
The timing makes the campaign even more fitting, as Reinhart turned 30 on September 13, right in the middle of a press tour packed with references to the very rom-com era that helped shape her fashion inspiration.

Lili saved one of her most nostalgic fashion moments for last, closing out her viral The Love Hypothesis press tour with a tribute to a beloved 1998 Disney Channel movie.
For the Los Angeles premiere, the actress recreated the iconic pink velvet mini dress worn by Elisabeth Harnois in My Date with the President’s Daughter, giving the late-90s look a polished modern update.
Reinhart wore a custom bubblegum-pink velvet micro minidress from Miu Miu.
The fitted design featured a low scoop neckline edged with white piping and thin white spaghetti straps, closely mirroring the dress worn by Harnois’ character, Hallie Richmond.
She paired the throwback dress with embellished black ankle-strap heels featuring crystal details, a delicate gold pendant necklace, and sparkling jewelry from Melinda Maria and Effy.
The original look appeared during one of the movie’s most memorable sequences.
Hallie, the teenage daughter of the U.S. president, desperately wants to experience a normal life away from her Secret Service detail.
