Hollywood star Guy Pearce 'excited' to return for emotional Neighbours finale

Guy Pearce is making a return to Neighbours for its special finale.

The Hollywood actor - who played Mike Young on the Australian soap from 1986 to 1989 - has confirmed he will be returning to his role one last time before Neighbours wraps for good this summer alongside the likes of Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan.

Bosses had been hoping to secure a new backer for the soap after Channel 5 decided to pull out, but unable to locate one, they found themselves unable to carry on with the programme. It will air its final scenes later this summer.
