HOLLYWOOD film crews have been spotted setting up to shoot the latest Batman film in Glasgow city centre.
A number of locations across the city are being transformed into Gotham as filming for The Batman: Part II gets underway.
It will be the third time Glasgow has appeared in The Batman films, with Robert Pattinson set to return as Bruce Wayne following his debut in the role in 2022.
Crews were seen setting up on Bothwell Street on Wednesday morning.
A set lighting truck owned by production company Warner Brothers was spotted parked on the street, along with a crane and lifting equipment.
The Batmobile was also seen being lowered onto the street.
Props have also started appearing, including a food truck which, while partly covered, includes prices shown in dollars.
Some businesses have also been transformed with new signage ahead of filming.
Security and production staff were also seen along the street in hi-vis jackets.
Bothwell Street was previously used as a film location for Spider-Man: Brand New Day last year.
It comes after production crews were seen painting over a number of murals underneath the Kingston Bridge, where much of the film shoot will be focused.
Locals took to social media to express outrage, arguing the move was "a disgrace and an insult" to the artists behind the murals and hitting out at the council for "pimping the city out to film production companies".
However, Glasgow City Council has confirmed that the murals will be reinstated once filming is complete, with the production company covering the cost.
The National understands the artists were informed before the murals were painted over, and have been given the choice whether to paint the original design or a new artwork.
