Holly Willoughby's This Morning speech 'throws Phillip Schofield under the bus'

Holly Willoughby has made it clear what she thinks of Phillip Schofield, according to fans of ITV This Morning.

The mum-of-three made a dramatic return to the daytime programme after some weeks away. Holly had a period of leave extended after her former co-star quit the show and admitted to a long-term affair with a male runner.

Holly, 42, was joined by Josie Gibson, who regularly steps in when presenters are away. As today's programme got underway, Holly became emotional as she addressed the nation.

She admitted it felt "very strange indeed sitting here without Phil" before adding she feels "shaken, troubled, and let down". She said she had given her "love and support to someone who was not telling truth and acted in a way they felt they had to resign from a career they loved."

Reacting to her comments on Twitter, many fans of the show felt Holly had made her feelings about Phillip, her former "best friend", clear. Maisie said: "No doubt now about what she thinks of Phillip.."

Paul said: "Holly Willoughby. Bus. Phillip Schofield. Rearrange accordingly". Alicia said: "I'd rather her have said something from the heart than that, it felt very fake, and I usually like Holly".

Nicola said: "Was definitely expecting more from that Holly Willoughby statement". Lydia said: "Not Holly throwing Phil under the bus".

ITV has been approached for comment.
