Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were forced to apologise during Monday's This Morning as Miriam Margolyes swore live on air.
The 81-year-old actress joined the duo in the ITV studio to chat about her new book, but she accidentally turned the air blue.
As she recalled some stories to Holly and Phil, Miriam appeared to be being extra careful with her language and told them: "Ooooooh I have to watch myself."
Holly, 41, replied: "You're doing really well," as Phillip added: "It's such a shame because we love it when you just let rip!"
Miriam responded: "I know but it upsets some people and I don't want to upset people, because the whole thing is life is s**t at the moment, it really is, it's terrible..."
Phillip quickly said: "Sorry," to viewers watching at home as Miriam realised what she had done.
"Ohhhhh, I've let myself down, sorry," she told them as Holly giggled and reassured her by saying: "It happens!"
"Yeah amazingly while you were apologising!" Phillip told her as they continued laughing.
"I just want to make people happy," Miriam admitted as Phillip told her: "You do though," as Holly said: "You make us very happy, let me tell you."
"Well, I apologise to everybody for that word," Miriam then added as the presenters cracked up once again.
This Morning viewers weren't bothered about her swearing though and were just happy to see Miriam on their TV screens.
Taking to Twitter, one person posted: "I love Miriam Margoyles so much. She’s so cute and funny on @thismorning just now #miriammargoyles #thismorning #bookpromotion."
Another posted: "Miriam Margolyes is just BRILLIANT. End of tweet. #ThisMorning #MiriamMargolyes."
A third viewer noted: "That was quite tame for Miriam #thismorning," and a fourth added: "in stitches at Miriam Margolyes on #ThisMorning, what a brilliant woman."
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
