Holly and Phil 'confirm' This Morning future as they bid goodbye after tough week

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield appeared to confirm their future on This Morning as they ended their show today.

There have been reports of a bloodbath looming on the ITV lunchtime show, which could see a number of people leave the programme. Holly is also keen for ITV to look at her contract too, as pressure mounts surrounding the presenting partnership.

Speaking at the end of the show today, Holly confirmed what was coming up tomorrow, as she wished everyone well. Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond will present as normal tomorrow, whilst Holly and Phil seemingly confirmed they'd be back on Monday.

As she said "see you on Monday," Phil just simply added a bye at the end of a tough week for the pair.

During yesterday's show, the pair hosted a segment on exam stress, where they chatted to a young woman called 'Zoe'. She admitted she had been struggling with the pressure of being a perfectionist and that stress she caused.

It was then that Phil shared a quote he had saved when he saw it about falling and getting back up again.

Speaking directly to 'Zoe', he said: "I've got a really good quote, which I saved, which I cannot for the life of me read the whole thing now. What I'm going to do is, I'm going to send it to the team who can forward it onto you. Read that quote."

He then went on to explain what the quote was about, adding: "It's all about sometimes you just don't get it right, sometimes you fail. Sometimes you fall and get back up again. It's all of those things, everyone does."

Holly and Phil have been hosting together all week (ITV)

Phil and Holly, 42, are said to be "barely speaking" and his position on This Morning is "looking increasingly precarious".

A source recently explained to The Mirror: "Phil’s position is looking increasingly precarious. Monday is very much D-day, but the same could apply to any day next week. No one is bigger than the brand."

It has since been reported Phillip is facing the axe from the show if his on-screen chemistry with Holly is lost, and the presenter isn't the only one who could be reaching their final days on the ITV programme.

A source told another publication: "This Morning is preparing for some seismic changes this summer — and Phil is lined up as the first major name for the chop when his contract expires this summer. It’s highly unlikely he’ll be back in September."
