Hogwarts Legacy, the game based on the Harry Potter series, is going to be in the hands of gamers very soon. It’s been confirmed by the Hogwarts Legacy Twitter account that the game will go live at 12am in your local timezone on February 7 for everyone who has early access.
If you live in the US, then this means you’ll be among the last in the world to get your hands on the game, but there is a way you can get it earlier. In fact, you can get it up to 21 hours earlier if you live on the west coast.
We’ll explain how to change the region of your console to New Zealand, which will trick the game into unlocking at Midnight New Zealand time, which is 3am PST on February 6.
Hogwarts Legacy New Zealand release time
If you execute this trick, you’ll be able to play the game on February 6 if you have early access, or February 9 if you don’t. Here is when it will unlock in each time zone if you do this trick:
- PST: 3am
- EST: 6am
- GMT: 11am
- CET: 12pm
- IST: 4:30pm
- CST: 7pm
- JST: 8pm
- AEDT: 10pm
Hogwarts Legacy New Zealand trick for PS5
This is a little trickier to sort out on PS5, unfortunately, as you’ll need to make a new PlayStation account and set it up with New Zealand as the region. This also means that, if you’ve already pre-ordered the game, you’ll need to do so again if you want to get the early unlock. There’s a chance it’ll work if the game is pre-loaded on your main account, but it’s not guaranteed.
Hogwarts Legacy New Zealand trick for Xbox Series X/S
Things are much easier on Xbox, as you can change your region as you please. Head into System, Settings, System, and then Language & Location on your Xbox. From there you can swap your location to New Zealand and the game will unlock on time.
