Many HMRC Child Benefit claimants may see the cash land in their accounts earlier than usual this week.
Money from HMRC, as well as that from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), is usually paid straight into bank, building society or credit union accounts, on a regular basis. Child Benefit is paid every four weeks.
Parents and carers who are eligible will receive £24 a week for your first child, as well as £15.90 a week for any other children.

If your payment date is on a weekend or a bank holiday your payment date will move, and there are a number of bank holidays each May. This year has seen an extra May bank holiday due to the coronation of King Charles III.
The final May bank holiday falls on Monday, May 29, and payments delivered by HMRC, including Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, Child Benefit, and Guardian’s Allowance, due on that date will be made on Friday, May 26.
DWP payments are also only made when offices and lines are open and on nationally recognised bank holidays when offices are closed, so any payments due on the late May Day Bank Holiday (May 29) will also land in bank accounts on Friday, May 26.
While money arriving earlier may seem like a good thing, payment dates will revert to normal in June, meaning some people may have to budget accordingly.
