Michael Storer has made cycling history by becoming only the second Australian rider in 120 years to make the podium at the Tour of Lombardy monument classic -- but he was still a distant sideshow to one final amazing Tadej Pogacar solo triumph of 2025.
Perth rider Storer battled magnificently over the final climb for third place, but couldn't live with the 'big two' Pogacar and Olympic champion Remco Evenepoel as they embarked on their latest one-sided duel on Saturday.
After soloing away from his Belgian rival at the World and European road race championships over the previous two weekends, Pogacar again proved unstoppable as he made his decisive kick 36km from home on the final, bruising Passo di Ganda climb.
