SHIMLA: A massive forest fire near Kinnaur district’s Jangi village has left the villagers so scared that they have asked for a helicopter to douse it. Deputy commissioner Abid Hussain Sadiq said the administration had contained the wildfire within a perimeter to protect the village.
The DC claimed the fire will be under control by Sunday night, while sources claim that the blaze had spread over 3 square kilometers of the forest and reached right above the village, where tough terrain and deep location will make it difficult for the fire tenders to reach. This fire is raging for last two days.
