Hijikata fires to fly flag in Brisbane

Rinky Hijikata has trounced compatriot and stablemate Adam Walton to fly the flag for Australia's men before Ajla Tomljanovic fell desperately short of a third-round Brisbane International berth in the women's division.

Qualifier Hijikata, who shares coach Mark Draper with Walton, raced through their match on Tuesday night, winning 6-3 6-2 in 72 minutes.
