Highlands residents are being urged to 'check all sheds and outhouses' for a young man reported missing from Glasgow.

Noman Ahmed was last seen getting off a train at Locheilside train station, near Fort William at around 11pm on Saturday. Police say the 20-year-old might have travelled to the Locheilside or Glenfinnan areas of Lochaber.

Noman is described as of Asian appearance with black hair and facial hair. When last seen, he was wearing dark clothing and a brown coat.

Police are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare. Motorists who have travelled on the A830 Fort William to Mallaig road since Saturday night are asked to check dash cam footage in case there have anything that could help with their search.

Residents and businesses in the area are urged to 'check all sheds and outhouses' in case Noman has taken shelter.

Inspector Isla Campbell said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for Noman’s welfare and would appeal to anyone who has in information surrounding his whereabouts. Officers are currently conducting searches alongside partner agencies in attempts to trace him safe and well.

“I would ask if there are any motorists who have travelled on the A830 Fort William to Mallaig road since Saturday night to please review dashcam footage that may be able to assist with our enquiries. We would also be grateful if local residents and businesses could check all sheds and outhouses for Noman.

“If anyone has any information surrounding Noman, please get in contact with police. Police can be contacted on 101 quoting incident number 3805 of Monday, August 29."
