Bristol is filled with quirky, independent pubs, each boasting its own charm. But it's hard to top one venue that sits on an idyllic location right by the River Avon.
Beese's owners have gone all-out to make their huge beer garden feel special. From a stunning pond to carefully crafted seating under a bridge of plants, this spot offers visitors a truly unique option. While it's located quite far from the city centre, revellers who want to enjoy an afternoon sipping local beers at 'Bristol best kept secret' can hop on a ferry from the harbourside, which will take them directly to the Brislington gem.
It's definitely worth reserving a table as the outdoor seating is packed during the summer months. For people looking to eat out, chefs cook up an incredible range of meals. From deliciously dirty burgers and chips, to Buddha bowls and curries.

And this pub's offerings don't end there, it also has an impressive list of live music events, including bands every Friday and regular festivals. Last weekend, Beeses hosted a gin festival, with a drumming band and pop-up stalls.
A small boat used to be moored on the St George/Hanham side of the river to ferry people across to the pub, but this has now disappeared and lots of locals have taken to either wild swimming across or purchasing their boats to reach the destination.
TripAdvisor reviewers were equally as impressed with the location. One person wrote: "All I can say is…. Spectacular roast dinner. Service was amazing. Oh and the scone with clotted cream and homemade strawberry jam was to die for. Will definitely be visiting again."
Another penned: "Had a fantastic evening at Beeses special Mexican night. Food - the vegie option - was absolutely delightful!!!! The music was jolly. Lots of dancing. All the staff went out of their way to make it a lovely event. Beeses is a magical place I definitely recommend. It's like a mini holiday everytime we come here! Thanks Beeses team!"
The spot is closed Monday to Thursday. Visit Bristol Ferry Boat's website to check trip availability.
