Record Sport revealed this week that the Easter Road hierarchy have met with a host of candidates with the number reaching double figures.
Chief executive Ben Kensell and Ian Gordon, son of owner Ron, travelled to London last week and have been meeting with an array of potential bosses.
Roy Keane has reportedly declared his interest in taking the hot seat left vacant by Shaun Maloney and remains the frontrunner with the bookies.
Former PSV and Derby boss Philip Cocu as well as ex-Swansea boss Paul Clement have held discussions over the role.
The Scotsman state that the final shortlist will be drawn up with Ron Gordon in the coming days following the initial interviews.
They stated that the US businessman will soon fly into the country to ramp up discussions.
The final call will be made on the shortlist during the meeting with Hibs chiefs, and it is claimed appointment could be made by the end of the season.
