Hibs land Europa Conference League spot as Hearts handed Euro boost after Celtic Scottish Cup win

Hibs are going on a European tour after Celtic's Scottish Cup Final win over Inverness.

Lee Johnson's men finished the Scottish Premiership campaign in fifth after last weekend's derby draw with Hearts at Tynecastle meaning they had to wait for the outcome of the showpiece at Hampden this evening.

But the Hibees faithful can now dig out the passports after Ange Postecoglou's men won 3-1 against Inverness in the sunshine at the national stadium to complete a domestic Treble and with that hand the capital club a one-way ticket into the Europa Conference League. The Easter Road men enter at the second qualifying round and will need to safely navigate three ties to reach the group stages.

Celtic's win is also a major boost for city rivals Hearts who have now progressed into the third qualifying round as a result of that triumph in Mount Florida while Aberdeen will be playing in the Europa League play-off round and now have the guarantee of European football up until Christmas with the back-up of the Europa Conference League group stages.

That was a luxury Hearts enjoyed last season and the millions in the bank that comes with it.

But European football will head for the capital next term with both clubs getting a shot at glory with their final fate now sealed as plans get put into place for pre-season and recruitment ahead of an exciting wait for the all-important draws.
