HGV drivers are shelling out an extra £173 to fill up their fuel tanks - and there's a warning that it could see food prices soar.
The record bills are costing HGV firms an extra £70million a week and bosses say that they will have to pass the expense on to the shops they supply. Food prices are currently rising at their fastest rate since 2013.
This could be exacerbated by the fuel crisis, which is meaning it costs £173 a week more to fill up an average 44-ton truck than before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, reports MirrorOnline.
