Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for targeting the town of Metula in northern Israel twice today, following an Israeli military incursion into Lebanon. The group stated that they launched artillery and rocket fire at a gathering of soldiers in Metula, successfully hitting their intended target.
Hezbollah justified the attack as a show of support for the Palestinian people in Gaza and as a defense of Lebanon and its citizens. The Israeli military confirmed the incident, reporting that approximately five projectiles crossed over from Lebanon. Some of these projectiles were intercepted, while others landed in unspecified locations.
In a separate incident, the Israeli military intercepted two more projectiles that crossed from Lebanon. Sirens were sounded in the area of Bar’am in northern Israel, with one projectile being identified as coming from Lebanon and landing in an open area.
