Hezbollah Launches Rockets Into Northern Israel In Support Of Palestinians

Israel's Iron Dome anti-missile system intercepts rockets launched from the Gaza Strip, after a temporary truce between Israel and the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas expired, as seen from Ashkelon

Early on Sunday morning, approximately 30 projectiles were launched from Lebanon into Israeli territory, as reported by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The IDF stated that some of the projectiles were intercepted, while others fell on Israeli soil.

The incident triggered sirens in Israel's Kiryat Shmona area in the north around 12:30 AM local time. Hezbollah, a Lebanese militant group, claimed responsibility for the attack through two separate statements issued on Sunday.

In the first statement, Hezbollah mentioned targeting Israeli soldiers in the 'Al-Manara settlement' and its surrounding areas in northern Israel using rockets. The group expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people and stated that the attack was in defense of Lebanon.

Subsequently, in a third statement, Hezbollah claimed to have launched rockets at Israeli forces in the same region while they were reportedly evacuating injured and deceased soldiers from the area.

The cross-border exchange of fire between Lebanon and Israel has heightened tensions in the region, with both sides closely monitoring the situation for any further developments.
