ATLANTA — While football great Herschel Walker's bid for the U.S. Senate hinges on his celebrity, he's just as likely to bring up his reputation as a businessman on the campaign trail.
At stops around Georgia and in online appeals, the Republican Senate front-runner boasts of creating several successful businesses and hundreds of jobs. He views himself as a voice for Georgia's business owners as he battles for a seat that could decide control of the Senate.
"Whenever Georgia needed somebody to speak up for their businesses, they called Herschel Walker," he told supporters at a recent rally in Dahlonega.
