Here’s what Americans really think about Trump naming buildings after himself

  • A new poll indicates that most Americans are opposed to President Donald Trump naming government buildings after himself while in office.
  • Only nine per cent of Americans surveyed by the Pew Research Center found it acceptable for him to name public buildings after himself during his presidency.
  • Around 70 per cent of respondents believe such actions are unacceptable or should only occur after he has left office.
  • Examples cited include banners with his image at the Department of Agriculture and Department of Justice, and his name being added to the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.
  • The same Pew Research Center poll shows President Trump's approval rating has dropped to 34 per cent, with declining confidence in his immigration and economic policies.
