Helen Skelton has a new mantra for 2023 and reveals she plans to "just crack on" after her Leeds Rhinos rugby star husband Richie Myler walked out on their marriage back in April when their youngest child was just four months old.
Adding to her pain, it soon emerged that he'd moved on with Stephanie Thirkill, the daughter of his club's president Andrew Thirkill. She is now expecting their first child together.
Helen might have been dealing with heartbreak behind the scenes, but she was a ray of sunshine as she competed in Strictly Come Dancing.
And now she'd vowed to 'never complain' as she shares New Year mantra after heartbreak.
"Hey 2023….. this is me," she wrote sharing a black and white photo of herself from rehearsals for Strictly.
"Never complain. Never explain. Just crack on."
Helen, 39, bounced back with an epic run on Strictly, making the final alongside Gorka Marquez and earning a legion of new fans.
"Hope this is the best year for you Helen," one commented.
"On you go amazing woman," another added.
"Sassy lady! Keep it up!!" a third wrote.
Helen Skelton has been announced as part of the line-up for the Strictly Come Dancing tour next – though it has been revealed that she won't dance with Gorka Marquez.+
Most of the participating contestants have been paired up with the same professional dancer they were partnered with on the BBC show.
But Helen is the exception and will instead be partnered with Kai Widdrington, 27, on the tour. The professional dancer had danced with presenter Kaye Adams, 59, on the latest series of Strictly.
Helen is looking forward to hitting the road and said: "Strictly has been the adventure of a lifetime and I'm so happy that it will continue next year on the live tour."
"I'm really looking forward to seeing the fans across the country and performing my favourite dances from the series. I can't wait!"
This year's winner, Hamza Yassin, will reunite with dancer Jowita Przystal on the tour. Fleur East will dance again with Vito Coppola and Molly Rainford will be back with Carlos Gu. The line-up also includes Will Mellor, Tyler West, and Ellie Simmonds.
The cast are set to take to the floor for 31 performances. Organisers tease they will be "supersized sparkle-filled shows".
