Helen George has worried Call The Midwife fans by hinting that something could go wrong with her character Trixie Franklin's wedding.
After being written out of the BBC drama to give birth to her youngest child, fan favourite and former Strictly contestant Helen made a celebrated return to Call The Midwife for the Christmas special, as Trixie returned from visiting a relative abroad. And Trixie had a memorable homecoming when love interest Matthew popped the question right at the end of the episode.
Trixie has been right at the heart of the Nonnatus House action since her return to Poplar, with her being 'locked down' in the maternity ward and separated from Matthew as the hospital fell victim to an e-coli outbreak and then, in last weekend's fifth episode of Call The Midwife's new series, Trixie rushed to Matthew's father's aide, after finding him collapsed in their bathroom, but sadly there was a tragic end to the storyline.

Viewers very much want to see Trixie have her happy ending, but speaking to Radio Times, actress Helen, who has just joined the cast of the stage revival of The King and I, suggested things don't go entirely to plan, saying: "I mean it's never completely smooth sailing. There's always got to be a bit of jeopardy."
Also doing little to quash fans' concerns, Ollie Rix, who plays Matthew, commented: "There wouldn't be any drama if it was smooth sailing so buckle up."
After the tragic scenes involving Trixie last Sunday, some viewers speculated that Helen might not play such a big role in Call The Midwife in the future, with one tweeting: "The show has always coped well with the ever-changing cast, but I hope Lucille comes back. I have a bad feeling about Trixie as well," before adding: "I think if Trixie is in next series, it will be in a reduced role. The King and I tour is quite long and runs into when the show's usually filmed."
